My research interests lie in applied linguistics, second language acquisition, intercultural communication, international education, Japanese studies, and sociology, with an emphasis on understanding how Japanese socio-cultural structures shape educational, communicative, and workplace practices, and how these compare with those of other countries and regions. Additionally, I investigate issues within socio-cultural anthropology, particularly those related to national, social, sexual, and cultural belonging. A central aim of my work is to examine the social, cultural, and professional factors that influence the lived experiences of diverse groups, with the goal of fostering greater interpersonal and intercultural understanding, mutual respect, and meaningful communication across professional, societal, and personal contexts.

Currently, I am exploring the impact of translanguaging, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) on second language acquisition and intercultural competence. By incorporating these innovative pedagogical approaches into classroom settings and connecting students with international partners through virtual exchange, I investigate how they influence students' motivation, English language proficiency, communicative competence, intercultural awareness, and global perspectives. My research also examines how authentic international collaboration can promote meaningful language use, critical thinking, and intercultural learning, preparing students to participate effectively in multilingual and multicultural environments.

The overarching goal of my research is to generate practical and applicable insights that enhance both educational practice and social outcomes. Through research on language learning, international virtual exchange, and intercultural communication, I aim to contribute to the development of globally engaged learners while fostering international understanding, collaboration, and academic networking.

私の研究関心は、応用言語学、第二言語習得、異文化間コミュニケーション、国際教育、日本学、そして社会学にあります。特に、日本の社会文化的構造が教育、コミュニケーション、職場における実践にどのような影響を与えるのか、またそれらが他の国や地域とどのように比較できるのかを理解することに重点を置いています。さらに、国籍、社会的・性的・文化的帰属に関する課題を含む社会文化人類学の領域についても研究しています。私の研究の中心的な目的は、多様な人々の生活経験に影響を与える社会的・文化的・専門的要因を明らかにし、専門的・社会的・個人的な文脈において、人と人との相互理解、異文化理解、相互尊重、そしてより良いコミュニケーションを促進することです。

私の研究の最終的な目標は、教育実践と社会的成果の双方に貢献する、実践的かつ応用可能な知見を生み出すことです。言語教育、国際オンライン協働学習（COIL）、および異文化間コミュニケーションに関する研究を通じて、グローバル社会で活躍できる人材の育成を支援するとともに、国際理解、国際協働、そして学術的ネットワークの発展に貢献することを目指しています。
